KENYA : Blades and Swords in Friday Night action

Strathmore University basketball teams will be in action in this month’s edition of Friday Night Basketball this evening at the Nyayo Gymnasium from 6pm.
The ladies team the ‘Swords’ will be facing Safe Spaces in the first match while the men’s team the ‘Blades’ will be up against 2011 Defending Champions Co-op Bank. The Swords are placed 7th on the log with 10 points while Safe Spaces follow them closely with same number of points but have played a match more (8 matches) compared to the students.
Only one point separates Blades and Co-op with the champions having 14 points while the Blades have 15 points from 9 matches losing only 3 of those. Their recent win came on Sunday when they beat defense forces side Ulinzi 59 – 52.
Co-op bank who had a shaky start to their title defense have regained form after a number of new signings to the side and the match will prove to be an exciting one. Apart from the two league matches there will also be a wheelchair exhibition match where the East select will face the West.
The wheel chair match will kick off at 7.30 pm while the Blades vs Co-op start at 8.00pm
