UGANDA : HEATERS TURN THE HEAT ON, 7.1ft CENTRE AMONG 3 IMPORTS SET TO LIGHT UP THE 2ND ROUND

Like the old adage says, to win the lottery, you have to buy a ticket and that is just what Victoria University Heaters have done. Following the success of their 2nd round acquisition of then coop bank duo, Salim Ali and Mike Makiadi, a move that saw them almost make it to the post season in their maiden season in the top flight, the club is set to walk the same path,, only this time with 3 acquisitions which can never have come at a better time following the departure of power forward George and shooting Guard Nasser. The 3 include 2 big men , with the big buy coming in the mould of a 7.1ft Sudanese centre who plies his trade in the Kenyan league, yes Gombya finally might have a player he can lock eye to eye at almost 180 degrees. The 3rd player we understand is a point guard. Should the deal go thru, no one is safe, with the play offs set at the quarters with a seeding of 1 vs 8, 2vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5, a number of players deemed it safer to finish top, as you might meet “beatable” Heaters with fears of Ndejje and Miracle eminent who most see in the 6th and 7th positions, the most loathed finish is the 4th which sees a likely clash with a big 5 team, a far riskier tie given the quarters are the best of 3, any off day and you are in jeopardy. With the players set to jet in next week, the wait isn’t that long after all.
