The Strathmore University Ladies basketball team B has joined the NBA League together with Footprints. The inclusion of the two teams means that the total number of ladies teams increases from 10 teams to 12 in the League that is played at the Railways Sports Club every weekend.
Fixture Secretary Caleb Osewe said that the league was still at its earlier stages and that there was no problem with the teams joining at this stage since they will be able to catch up soon
“There are teams in the league that have not even played a single match so I don’t think that it is a challenge for them joining now.’’
Strathmore coach Sylvia Kamau said the main aim of joining the league was to give the players, who cannot make it to the main team more exposure and playing time. She further added that the team mostly consists of players that joined the university this year.
“I usually have two teams, the main team that plays in the Kenya Basketball Federation League and the team that participates in the Universities League. The universities’ league so far is on a break and its best if they keep themselves on toes by engaging in the NBA league.’’Sylvia said.

According to the NBA fixtures, Strathmore will play Multimedia University on Sunday at 10.30am in their first experience.
