NIGERIA : Pillars, Yelwa Battle for Supremacy in Kano

DStv premier league Savannah conference leaders Kano Pillars basketball club and second place Yelwa Hawks of Bauchi will on Sunday in Kano confront each other in a battle for supremacy. The clash takes at the sports hall of the Sani Abacha stadium, Kano.
The match between the two sides dubbed the 'star-match' of week-7 in both conferences is expected to live up to expectation as both sides are yet to drop a game in the ongoing season.
Both sides have won all their six games so far this reason which gives reason for the importance attached to the Sunday pairing as it could also decide who tops the conference going into the final-8 playoff coming up in June this year. Pillars' battle to reclaim the league title it lost last season after winning in the first three seasons will also come to play.
Niger Potters of Minna will continue its resurgence as it hosts Bauchi Nets Minna tomorrow while Nigeria Immigration will be at home to bottom placed Civil Defenders of Abuja in Kano also tomorrow even as last season fourth place finisher Kada Stars will continue its search for a comfortable finish in the Savannah conference with a clash at home against Tapgun Rockets of Jos in Kaduna on Sunday.
In the Atlantic conference, the sports hall of the national stadium Lagos will host two games tomorrow with the Nigeria Customs Service team going up against Comets basketball club at 2.00pm. Chariots and Union Bank also take the centre stage at 4.00pm while on Sunday, Police Baton will continue its search for a winning formula against ruthless and conference leader Dodan Warriors at 4.00pm.
Royal Hoopers of Port Harcourt will attempt to put behind its 70-81 points week-6 home loss to Dodan Warriors and go for the kill against visiting Islanders of Lagos at the Civic Centre.
