NIGERIA : PBL: Pillars, Warriors continue dominance

Three-time champion of the DStv Premier Basketball League Kano Pillars basketball club at the weekend continue it great form in the 2011/2012 season with an 89-62 points emphatic win over Niger Potters basketball club of Minna at the weekend in Kano
Pillars thus took it lead to 8-0 records in the Savannah conference of the league while Dodan Warriors basketball club continue it’s dominance of the Atlantic conference with an emphatic 89-64 points win over Comets basketball club in a local derby on Saturday.

Warriors who were the away side in the derby won in all four quarters by 18-16, 22-19, 21-12 and 2-17 to continue its unbeaten run in the race for final-8 playoffs coming up in June this year.
 Islanders basketball club maintain its hold on the third spot on the log of the Atlantic conference with a 76-62 points victory over Union Bank basketball club (16-15, 34-23, 17-24 and 23-14).
 Police Baton basketball club of Lagos brightened it chances of escaping the drop with a 77-58 points victory over Chariot basketball club at the national stadium, Lagos on Sunday.
 The Coach Mark Balogun tutored Police team were occupying the rear on the conference log before the week-8 battle against the Chariot who were just a step ahead on the conference log showed more determination to carry the day from the jump-ball to the buzzer.
 Other games decided at the weekend, Tapgun Rockets basketball club of Jos showed some promises in the Savannah conference week-8 pairing with a 66-63 points win over Civil Defenders at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Yelwa Hawks basketball club of Bauchi had the better of Immigration basketball club of Kano when both sides clashed in Bauchi on Saturday with a 76-62 points victory while last season fourth place finisher Kada Stars basketball club of Kaduna was 57-51 points better than visiting Bauchi Nets basketball club.
