UGANDA : D'Mark Gives Power BC Mega Deal Again

NATIONAL basketball champions D'Mark Power will compete with renewed vigour this season. The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) league will start on March 24.
Power has a lot to compete for after mobile service provider D'Mark renewed their sponsorship of the team for the next two years.
D'Mark will maintain their sh10m bonus for a championship win on top of providing training, meals and transport allowances to the playing staff under the deal.
As they move towards semi professionalism, the team and their sponsors will also participate in community activities as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Power patron Alex Kasendwa is of the view that the renewed sponsorship in an indication that the sponsors have got value for their money. The official said they are trying to move the game to semi-professional level.
"Our theme for this year is More than basketball and we are going to participate in several CSR campaigns as we strive for full professionalism," Kasendwa said.
Meanwhile, Team Ikong and Team Kasewu will meet in the finals of the Friday Night Lights (FNL) after both teams came through grueling semifinals in Wandegeya on Friday.
Ikong edged out Mukiza 47-43 to stay on course to defending their title while Kasewu beat Blick 41-38.
