NAMIBIA : Basketball Trials in Swakop

The Namibian Basketball Federation (NBF), in conjunction with the Directorate of Sport and the Namibia Schools Sport Union (NSSU), on Saturday kicked off with regional trials for the Under 20 age group in Swakopmund.Forty players and 10 coaches from the Erongo and Kunene regions took part in the first round, which culminated in the selection of three girls and five boys for the national trials to be held in Windhoek at the end of April.
The programme included practising and playing and was conducted by NBF's German expert Frank Albin.
The selected players are: Aily Alfeus, Lizanne Cloete, Frieda Kolowani, Sem David, Landuleni Iipinge, Sam Nalusha, Titus Paulus and Tuhafeni Shinyama.
The players will join their counterparts from the other regions before the final squad is selected to represent Namibia at the SCSA Zone VI U20 Youth Games in December in Zambia.
The next trials will be held in Oshakati for the northern regions on Saturday 24 March.
