KENYA : Eagle Wings vow to defend title with all Arsenal

Kenya premier league basketball champions Eagle Wings head coach Thomas Olumbo, has issued a challenge to all the clubs seeking to dethrone the champions saying it will not be easy as the ladies will come out stronger and better ready to bag the trophy for the second year running.
Speaking over the weekend in Nairobi after bagging two individual awards of the best coach in the last season, the tactician attributed his success to the determination of the girls with intentions of emerging winners all the time.

“Behind a successful coach are players, who will go down fighting all the time they take to the pitch. I wouldn’t have won such glamorous awards alone, I dedicate them to my girls and the entire team, “said the happy coach.
The coach thanked the organizers of the weekend event codeRED and the sponsors General Motors saying that is a positive indicator to the several talents out there who need motivation to join the sport.
On Saturday codeRED with the sponsorship of General Motors held the inaugural Basketball awards to award excellence for elite performers’ during last season’s league.

“The sport is growing, as compared to where it used to be, I urge many like minded sponsors to come on board and support the game, as we seek to hit new levels,”

“ At Eagle Wings we will rest at nothing but ensure we retain the title and also bag the regional Zone 5 championships.” Concluded Olumbo.
