After three weeks of huffing and puffing, the old men of Team Wazee managed a narrow win over Team Ikong with a 43-42 win to give Elliot Bagenda and Peter Mubanda a grin on their faces and a chance for the coveted prize.

The former DMark Power teammates came into the third leg of the Friday Night Lights winless and had to work their feet off to match the speed and quick hands of the youthful Team Ikong. The latter though was made to pay the price of school boys errors.
Despite having just two players on time for the early kick off of the night, Team Norman registered an emphatic 67-48 win over the struggling Team Philip.

With 10 minutes to the start, only Isaac Afidra and Eric Malinga were at the YMCA Wandegeya courtside. Captain Norman Blick and his brother Donald were no where to be seen. But the two brothers made up for the lateness by turning in decent shifts to steer their team a vital victory that kept them in sight of the Shs2m overall prize.

“We were only two players around but thank God all the others arrived to show these youngsters that we are the best team in this fans event,” boasted Afidra during the post game interview.

Meanwhile, Team Kasewu continued to dominate the fan basketball tourney with a comfortable 10-point win margin over Team Opio with the final scores reading a 53-43. Kasewu, who turns out for First Division outfit Warriors, exhibited silky skills shooting three-pointers with ease and set up his teammates for easy buckets as his team outshone its less-favoured rivals.

In the final game of the night, Team Mukiza got the bettered of Team Koma by just one point 41-40 in a nervy affair. Team leader Collins Mukiza nailed three-pointers for fun all day long while his teammate Richard Omondi of Falcons kept the crowd on its feet yearning for more with a non-stop dunking fest.

Even the afternoon downpour could not stop the partisan basketball fans from turning up for the pre-season event that is organised by Kinetic Management Africa (KMG) and aimed at giving fans a chance to play alongside their stars.
