PLS HAWKS go marching on in the men’s Angel Fish-sponsored Curtain-raiser tournament.

On Wednesday at the Palais des Sports, Hawks stayed on course for their title defence with an 80-75 quarterfinal win over last year’s first division league winners Baya.

They are now in the semifinal, today at 5.15pm at Victoria Gymnasium, against bottom division side Razors, who eliminated last year’s division two champions Mont Fleuri Dawgz (53-51) and top division side MBU Rockers (76-65 in overtime after the score was tied 62-62 at the end of normal playing time).

Coach Tony Juliette’s PLS Hawks dispatched AAP Brothers 99-37 and RC Dynamics 81-34 in the previous rounds.

The other semifinal was to be played last night between Angels and Premium Cobras. The winners of the two last-four encounters will meet in Sunday’s final at 4.30pm at the Palais des Sports.

The women’s final at 3pm is a repeat of last year’s, with defending champions Anse Etoile Stars up against HotShots.
