Men's national basketball champions Mogas Falcons have failed to raise funds to travel to Ethiopia for the Africa Zone V club championships.

Uganda will now be represented only in the women's event. KCC Leopards travelled early this week for the event that started Tuesday.
The Falcons had hoped that the sports ministry would assist to sponsor their 19-man team .
FUBA secretary Tom Ocamiringa said Uganda would not face a FIBA fine since Falcons had not confirmed their participation.
Teams that fail to travel for tournaments face a penalty from world governing body FIBA equivalent to a $3000 (over sh7.5m) fine and a two-year ban from international events.
"Falcons would have only been fined if they had confirmed their participation but they had told the organisers to wait until Tuesday to confirm whether they would be attending."

Meanwhile, Makerere Sparks have won their protest against Lady Canons for arriving late for their October 25 match.

The FUBA technical committee ruled Tuesday that Canons were guilty of arriving past the allotted time and stripped them of two points from winning the match 92-65 and awarded them to the Sparks.
