Southern Africa: Zone Six Adopts New Constitution
The Supreme Council of Sport in Africa Zone Six on Saturday adopted a new constitution at its executive meeting held in Maseru, Lesotho.
Speaking to Nampa yesterday, the Namibia Sport Commission (NSC) Chief Administrator, Rusten Mogane, who attended the meeting, said the meeting also discussed the Zone Six Bulletin.
He said the meeting urged all member countries to extensively contribute to the Zone Six Bulletin, which exclusively covers sport stories from the region.
He said three editions of the newsletter have already been published.
The other topic discussed by the meeting was the forthcoming Zone Six Under-20 Youth Games to be hosted by South Africa in October.
All member countries will have teams competing in athletics, basketball, disabled sport, boxing, swimming, netball, tennis and soccer.
On the Zone Six Under-20 Games, Mogane said all countries must at the end of June submit their 50 per cent deposits on accommodation and food.
Mogane said the meeting was also briefed on the progress of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and by Zambia on their development regarding the progress made as host of the 2011 All Africa Games.
